Assignment Ten - Wild Card

 A World of Influencers

Each morning I wake up and hop on all of my social media platforms to catch what I might have missed the night before. Although it is a terrible habit your society has grown hungry for a consistent flow of information and social media is how we get it. When social media first blew up and became truly popular it was meant for communication and entertainment purposed. You could tweet, post, like and share other friends content that they personally posted about their lives. As times are changing, social media is used for anything and everything. Politicians are using social media as a campaign platform, small business use social media as a retail site, celebrities use social media as a way to connect with fan, and the list goes on.

One truly remarkable social media user that has changed the face of these platforms are influencers. It still baffles me that people can make money right from their phones, and anyone can do it. A Social Media Influencer is a user on social media who has established credibility in a specific industry. A social media influencer has access to a large audience and can persuade others by virtue of their authenticity and reach. If you have a following, you can be an influencer and be good at it as well.

Influencers often work with companies to represent their brand and draw in customers. They are sent clothing or items from the company to review and display to their customers, the bugger the following, the bigger the consumer base. Let's break down the process shall we? As someone begins to gain a large following on social media, they may decide they want to become an influencer. They will start by looking at local companies that want ambassadors. Buy an item, get a code for the site, review the item on social media, and allow others to shop the said company with their discount code. This code allows a small discount for consumers and lets the company know that their influencer is drawing customers to the brand. On a larger scale, companies will hire on influencers for brand marketing and they will receive all of the clothes or products ahead of release dates and are often found in commercials or other marketing for the company.
